DESIRE – The first step towards riches

  • Burning Desire – You must want to achieve your goal more than anything else and have it become the dominating obsession of your life
  • Create a plan

FAITH – The second step towards riches

  • Faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of auto-suggestion
  • The mind comes, finally, to take on the nature of the influences which dominate it. Understand this truth, and you will know why it is essential for you to encourage the positive emotions as dominating forces of your mind, and discourage – and eliminate – negative emotions
  • It’s a well known fact that one comes, finally, to believe whatever one repeats to one’s self (the third step towards riches – Autosuggestion)
    • Every man is what he is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind.

Limiting Beliefs

  • You don’t have to be stuck with your limiting beliefs. Negative beliefs can be changed

If your beliefs are not empowering you, change them!

When was the last time you failed?

  • If you told yourself anything other than, “I did my best and learned a lesson – and I will do better next time.” You’re making excuses and letting limiting beliefs get in the way of achieving your goals

Growth Mindset

  • One thing that you’ll notice about limiting beliefs is that they come from a Fixed Mindset and not a Growth Mindset
  • We need to shift more to a Growth Mindset

Identify Your Limiting Beliefs

The ideas that you have about yourself and the world around you are preventing you from reaching your full potential

Your Limiting Beliefs usually fall within 4 categories

  1. Limiting Beliefs about the World
    • Beliefs about “how things are,” with are out of your control
  2. Limiting Beliefs about Other People
    • You care what others think of you
  3. Limiting Beliefs about Yourself
    • These are beliefs you have about yourself, such as “I’m too dumb, too ugly, too fat, etc”
    • These are not facts, they are just stories you tell about yourself – and we can change our stories
  4. Entitled Beliefs
    • Believing the world owes you something. That you’re better than others
    • Excuses to avoid growth and stay in your comfort zone

Take Responsibility

The #1 reason that people don’t achieve their goals is that they don’t take responsibility for their lives.

They choose to believe that their circumstances are out of their control.

To overcome your limiting beliefs, you must believe that life is happening FOR you, not TO you!

Ultimately, your choices and behavior determine your fate

Life is full of things that are out of our control, but we can control how we react to them.

Let Go of Certainty

  • Certainty is one of the most powerful of the 6 basic needs – It gives us comfort and stability
  • But that can hold you back
    • If you want something different, you’ve got to do something different

Change Your Self-Talk

Building Confidence Through Self-Talk

  • The more we tell ourselves something, the more we believe it
  • Catch yourself with your negative self-talk and immediately replace it with empowering thoughts
